Shorebird photography provides an abundance of opportunities for action-packed photography and challenges including birds in flight, feeding, and battling over territory. Tim has focused his wildlife photography on shorebirds and will share his experience and techniques with you to optimize your shorebird photos.
You will learn the benefits of low-level bird photography including the opportunities for different perspectives, dramatic depth of field, and better backgrounds. Tim will suggest equipment choices (cameras, lenses, tripod/ground pod, tripod heads, flash, etc.) for many varied situations. He will review details regarding camera settings (aperture/shutter priorities, auto focus modes, focus points) to capture the action and present techniques on how to get close to the birds. Tim will also discuss composition in bird photography and will share some of his favorite shorebird photos.
Practice what you learn in the workshop on Tim’s Shorebird Photography at East Beach Field Trip on Friday.
