General Information

Pre-registration: Pre-register online or via mail or fax until Tuesday, March 31, 11:00 p.m. CST. Advance registration is recommended, as most events have limited seating. Reservations will be filled in the order received. Payment may be made by Visa, MasterCard, check or money order.

Onsite Registration: Register during the festival at the Registration Table on the second floor in the Old Galveston Square building, 2221 The Strand. Hours are:

Thursday, April 2, 7:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Friday, April 3/Saturday, April 4, 6:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Sunday, April 5, 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Fee Structure: FeatherFest participants who attend events Thursday through Saturday will pay a registration fee of $30, as well as a fee for each event attended. The registration fee helps cover some of the festival’s overhead, the evening social events on Thursday, April 2, and Saturday, April 4, and a FeatherFest 2009 commemorative tote bag and silk woven patch. There is no registration fee for FF participants who attend events only on Sunday; a fee will be charged just for Sunday events attended. Sunday only registrants may purchase a FF 2009 tote bag and patch at the sales desk.

Field Trip and Workshop fees are noted on the activity descriptions and the 2009 Registration form.

A separate registration form must be submitted for each participant.

New this Year: FeatherFest Family Package

If you’re new to FeatherFest or are looking for a special outdoor family outing, the FeatherFest Family Package is just right for you! It’s available April 2, 3 and 4 and features the Galveston Harbor & Pelican Island Birding by Boat Tour aboard the Seagull II from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You’ll also get the 2009 FeatherFest Tote Bag, Bird Patch and Bird “Tattoo.” Tickets are only $49 per person. Registration Packets: All registrants must pick up their packets at the Old Galveston Square Registration Table prior to their first field trip. Please allow extra time to do this before your first scheduled event. If your first field trip is early, please pick up your registration packet the day before.

Children: Youth under 10 years old may only register for trips and workshops that are designated "For Families." As birders understand, some trips can be long, tiring and test the stamina of young children. Many outings require birders to proceed with stealth and be able to listen to quiet whisperings of the leader.

Waiver:

All participants must complete a liability waiver and provide some medical information. It will save time at registration if you fill them out ahead of time, and bring them with you to the registration table. Please click here for a copy of the forms.

Note: Organizers reserve the right to cancel events for any reason or to substitute qualified presenters or trip leaders when necessary. Water-based field trips are more affected by weather conditions than others. Every effort will be made to place participants in an alternate event, and no refunds will be given. If an alternate event is not available, a full refund will be given upon request prior to the end of the festival, at the Registration desk.

Cancellations and Refunds: If you cancel your registration before March 25, you will receive a full refund. Cancellations received on March 25 through March 31 will receive a 50% refund.
