| We have left the descriptions of our 2013 events on our website as we will repeat many of the field trips and workshops in 2014 along with new events. |

Saturday, April 13, 2013
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Free to FeatherFest Registrants
Island Community Center – 4700 Broadway – Festival Headquarters
Now that FeatherFest has “gone to Broadway,” there’s no better place to socialize with other birders and photographers than at this free Saturday evening social at festival headquarters! Enjoy a glass of wine and light hors d'oeuvres while you catch up with old and new friends. And since you’ll be in the heart of Birders’ Bazaar, this will be an ideal opportunity to check out offerings of this year’s vendors.
Houston Camera Exchange, official sponsor of the festival’s 2013 photography track, will have their latest cameras, lens and accessories on hand for both beginner and experienced nature photographers. Representatives from Canon, Nikon, Sony and other manufacturers will be on hand to demonstrate their products.

During the evening social you’ll also want to talk shop with optics experts from manufacturers like Eagle, Leica, Kowa, Nikon, Swarovski and Takahashi, and browse their wares.
In addition to camera and optics vendors, don’t miss the array of dazzling hand-crafted jewelry, nature-themed arts and crafts, and stunning nature photography booths.
Birding tour representatives will be on hand, too, to help you plan your next outdoor adventure. Plus you can pick up need-to-know information about local birding and nature organizations.
After all this, if you’re still looking for a festival souvenir, head to the FeatherFest sales table - it will be chock full of 2013 T-shirts, puzzles, books and more!
