📷 Resoft Park Rookery and More! #2

April 26 @ 7:00 am - 10:00 am
$50

Resoft is a beautiful Brazoria County Park, and we are excited to offer a return this year, for two FeatherFest photography field trips! It is an 80-acre day-use park near Alvin that is wheelchair accessible. David will be using his own E-trike to get around. The park has interconnected, crescent shaped lakes with islands in the middle. During spring nesting/breeding season it becomes a mini-rookery. You’ll be able to observe and photograph Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, and Cattle Egret as well as Roseate Spoonbill and cormorants. The opportunity for chicks on the nest is always amazing. There are several returning, nesting pairs of Wood Ducks to photograph. We’ll walk as needed to get photos of these many birds. I have also photographed spectacular sunrises here. Don’t worry! You’ll learn what is needed to capture some wonderful photographs. The park has several renovated lakes with piers, extended paved walking trails, paved parking, covered shelters and restroom facilities. You will do well with at least a 300mm to 500mm prime or zoom lens.  Just bring what you have and we will find images that will work for your gear.  Early morning light might require a tripod and there is plenty of room for them.

Bring: water, snacks, sunscreen, and insect repellant.

This is a meet-at-site trip. Driving directions will be emailed prior to the trip.
