Ed Ferrin

I got my first Canon SLR camera in 1970 at the age of 18 and have actively been doing
photography ever since. I got my first Digital SLR in 2004 and became a big fan of digital because of the instant access to and the ability to edit my photos.

I first got into birding in Westerville, Ohio in 1989 and have been a birder fanatic ever since. I moved to Galveston in December of 1998 and discovered I now lived in birding paradise. In 2004, I merged my love of photography with my love of birding and have been actively involved in birding photography ever since.

I joined The Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council (GINTC) in 2009 and under the direction of Sue Reed and worked with Kathy Adams Clark to add bird photography field trips and workshops to our 2010 FeatherFest Birding Festival.

I am now retired and find time to do bird photography several times a week on a year-round basis here in Galveston and the surrounding community.
